thank you man.. well seems like that’s what i am going to end up doing after all.. good to know it’s not costy anyway :)

  • BSREA5:

If you want a permanent solution, I suggest you just buy the reinstall OS CD from Sony it only cost about $20, that’s what I ended up doing because I couldn’t find all the needed drivers on the net either.

I recently had problems with my Viao UX 280P & i had to reinstall win… unfortunately i’d 2 install the OS totally over again, and ive had problems with some drivers ( like i can’t make the bluetooth work.. it just keeps saying the switch should be turned on, when it actually is.. so it wont work… although i can still make the Wi-fi work) so i was wonderin, did u have any problems with Win7? i’m usin XP, should i switch 2 that OS? im sick of not bein able 2 use the BT nor the back camera :(

it’s a release candidate, which means its not the full version. of course you can download ;D

  • GadgetGirl1995:

Is it free to download? I have a UX I want to put it on

  • BSREA5:

    no, it wasn’t for me.

  • wh0m33:

After doing the clean install, was it difficult finding all the UX device drivers that had to be reinstalled after you installed the new OS? Thanks

  • OblivianStudio:

Although you will need a patched/hacked version of what ever mac os you want to install just google osx86 and you’ll find everything on the topic

  • BSREA5:

wow, that’s a tough one, I own a Sony vaio TT, and a 13″ Macbook and love both of them equally. For some reason though I think I like Windows 7 more than Mac OS X, Vista, & Win XP. But since I heard that people will be able to start running Win 7 on a Mac you might want to get a Mac. In a situation like this I’d have to flip a coin to decide, Sony’s my favorite brand & Apple is my second. Hope this helps. :P

7 looks just like vista with a few cosmetic changes….im getting a new laptop soon…am looking to get either a sony viao ns running vista(later 7) or a macbook pro…any suggestions which one to get? they both have pros and cons

  • BSREA5:

yes it can run the Mac OS & Windows.

  • mmoby1:

hey tell me i’m new to know UX…it’s run both OS, Mac and Windows?

  • ddfall:

    1024×600

  • BSREA5:

All I know is it’s very high.

  • easynoteguy1:

What is the resolution of the screen

  • BSREA5:

My UX is over 2 yrs old, so I wiped out the HDD and did a clean install, I only use my UX to try out different OS’s etc, right now it’s running mac OS 10.5(which I may post a vid of that). Anyway I burn a copy of Win 7 RC from microsoft, everything was fast & easy. Also I recommend using cheetah DVD burner, it’s fast & free.

  • PuCCiPuCCe:

How did you get Windows 7 on your UX? I have a UX390 and I want to install 7, did you do a clean install or did you upgrade from Windows Vista Business?
