I personally use all of the applications because they all apply to different areas of my work, or general work. You don't NEED to download all of them, it's only the ones you need you should use. I personally think the main ones are Windows Live Messenger, Movie Maker, and Photo Gallery. Maybe Writer if your a blogger, or have your own website. Hope that helps, - Scott.
